CatClinArt conducts its second clinical audit at Vall d’Hebron Hospital

Last January (19–22 January), the CatClinArt project carried out its second clinical audit at Hospital Vall d’Hebron — a key step toward improving quality and safety in radiotherapy for patients across Europe.
The audit was conducted by a multidisciplinary international team — Aude Vaandering, Dirk Verellen and Primoz Strojan — while also serving as hands-on training for Catalan auditors Diego Jurado, Alvar Roselló, Leyre Chueca and Jaime Pérez-Alija. This combined approach strengthens professional capacity and promotes shared standards that ultimately translate into better patient care.
The Departments of Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics & Radiation Protection at Hospital Vall d’Hebron welcomed both international and local auditors with openness and professionalism, creating an environment that encouraged collaboration, learning and transparent evaluation.
Although the days were intense, they were highly productive. Experiences like this reinforce CatClinArt’s mission: advancing a European culture of clinical quality and continuous improvement, with a direct and meaningful impact on patient safety, treatment effectiveness and trust in healthcare systems.
